Fresh Meadows Natural will celebrate its fi rst anniversary on April 27. The milestone means one full year of bringing healthy choices to local residents, offi cials said. “It feels good. The community needed something like this. At the same time, we were able to provide it,” said manager Calvin Park. “I think both of us, the customers and ourselves, are happy.” The designer market at 69-74 188th Street offers more than 1,000 varieties of organic, natural, gluten-free and gourmet foods. They do not contain pesticides or chemical fertilizers and are processed without food additives. “There’s a new wave of people that just want to have a healthier diet,” said Park, 32.
