She’s On Point: A Celebration of Girls in Sports - Women’s History
Month continues with She’s On Point as they celebrate female athlete
achievements and introduce young girls and boys to sports at Al Oerter
Recreation Center. A variety of sports clinics and demonstrations ranging
from traditional to alternative sports are occurring thanks to partnerships
with local colleges, sports organizations and contributions of
NYC Parks Public. Professional athletes and coaches have also been
invited to talk about their pathway to their career in sports.

Come Together: Music Festival and Label Market - MoMa PS1 is bringing
Come Together back again for its third year. MoMa PS1 and famous
record shop Other Music have joined to offer live performances, films,
workshops and panels to celebrate international and local music communities,
along with a market featuring more than 75 label records.
This event is bringing the record store experience back for the weekend.

Library at Langston Hughes is inviting
you to play Bingo to learn about
the fifty amazing notable women in
science fields ranging from astronomy
to chemistry to biology to
physics and more. Stay up-to-date
with local libraries as many more
of these events will continue until
the end of the month. You can also
meet inspiring women in science
working throughout New York City
as they discuss their career paths
and engage in hands-on workshops.

like Nelson’s “Hello Mary Lou” and
“Travelin Man.” Bobby Brooks Wilson
will exhibit the moves and singing
style of his father while performing
songs such as “Lonely Teardrops” and
“That’s Why.”

Show - Go and join the
local ladies of Astoria in Q.E.D. as
they perform an improv that, well,

hysterical. These women have just
completed the level one Hallet’s Cove
Theater improv class. So go and see
what they have whipped up. As they
put it, it’s a performance of local lady
awesomeness.

Club of Douglaston - A free
concert commemorating the works
of classical music featured by a
program presented by performing
club members. There will be
duets sung by Julie and Ron Meixsell
and solo arias from Mozart’s the
Magic Flute along with music by Orff,
Holst and Pearson. Compositions by
Debussy, Verdi and Morricone will be
performed by clarinetist Gene Keyes.
All performances will be accompanied
by Aglaia Messina, pianist.
