Man shot after answering door
Cops are looking for a gunman who
fatally shot a man in the doorway of his
Jamaica home on Tuesday, Feb. 26.
According to authorities, at 5:46 p.m.
on Feb. 26, police responded to a 911 call
regarding a man shot inside a home on
171st Street near 103rd Road.
Upon their arrival, offi cers from
the 103rd Precinct found 57-year-old
Mohammed Rizwan in the home with a
gunshot wound to his chest.
Shortly before his death, sources familiar
with the investigation said, Rizwan
answered the door to his home and the

suspect shot him before fl eeing the scene.
It’s not clear at this point whether the victim
answered a doorbell or a knock.
EMS rushed Rizwan to Jamaica
Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
At this time, police could not provide
a description of the suspect, or a possible
motive for the shooting.
No arrests have been made at this time.
Th e investigation is ongoing.

Th anks to an anonymous tip, the NYPD
collared on Feb. 25 a Bronx man who
allegedly exposed himself to a 9-yearold
girl and abused her on the 7 train in
Woodside earlier in the month.
Members of the NYPD Special Victims
Squad arrested Ronald Dudley, 40, at
his home just aft er 1:30 a.m. on Feb.
25, law enforcement sources said. He
was charged with sexual abuse, forcible
touching and acting in a manner injurious
to a child.
Police said Dudley allegedly confronted
the girl while they rode a Manhattanbound
7 train approaching the 52nd
Street station at about 2:45 p.m. on Feb.
14. According to authorities, he allegedly
exposed himself to the youngster, then
pressed his body against her.
Moments later, he fl ed the scene in
an unknown direction. Th e incident
was later reported to
the 108th Precinct and

Attorney Richard A.
Brown said on Feb.
25. “Th is was a horrible,
disturbing act that
no one — let alone
an innocent child —
should have to endure.”
Following his arraignment on Feb. 25,
Dudley was ordered held on $100,000
bail and to return to court on March 15.
He faces up to seven years behind bars if
convicted.
Flushing man killed
after being hit by car
Trying to cross a busy Ridgewood
street in the middle of the block proved
deadly for a Flushing man aft er he was
fatally struck by a van, police announced
on Th ursday, Feb. 21.
Law enforcement sources said Ping
Chung, 57, of 134th Street was fatally
injured while walking across Flushing
Avenue between Woodward and
Metropolitan Avenues at 8 a.m. on Feb. 19.
According to information obtained by
police, Chung was attempting to cross
Flushing Avenue from south to north
when he was struck by a 2013 Ford van,
operated by a 31-year-old man, moving
eastbound on the roadway. Th e driver
stopped his vehicle aft er realizing he
had hit the man.
Offi cers from the 104th Precinct and
EMS units responded to a 911 call about
the incident. Upon their arrival, cops
found Chung with trauma to his head.
Paramedics rushed Chung to
Elmhurst Hospital, where he was pronounced
dead. An autopsy conducted
by the Medical Examiner’s offi ce on
Feb. 20 found that Chung died of complications
from the injuries he sustained
in the collision.
No charges have been fi led against
the driver, police said. Th e case has
been presented to the NYPD Collision
Investigation Squad for further examination.

Burglars steal $77K in
jewelry from home
Police are asking for help in identifying
two suspects wanted in connection
with a string of burglaries in Astoria.
Law enforcement sources said the two
suspects forcibly entered three residential
locations along 49th Street on Feb.
8 between 7:15 and 7:45 p.m. According
to police, the suspects gained access to
the homes by climbing the rear stairs of
each location before breaking windows
and entering through rear doors.
Police indicated that the burglars did
not take any property from two of the
three locations. However, the individuals
fl ed one location with approximately
$77,000 worth of jewelry, according
to authorities.
All of the incidents were reported to
the 114th Precinct.
Cops described both suspects as
30-year-old men with light complexions
who were last seen wearing dark
jeans, white sneakers and hooded sweatshirts.
One suspect is described as 5
feet, 11 inches tall and weighs about
200 pounds, while the other is reportedly
5 feet, 5 inches tall and weighs 160
pounds.
Police released video of one of the suspects
on Feb. 26.
