The musicians of the Queens Jazz OverGround are hosting their monthly jazz clinic at Flushing Town Hall from 6 p.m. This month’s clinic will focus on Charles Mingus’ music. The Animation Art of Chuck Jones closes at the Museum of the Moving Image. The exhibition showcases the work of this legendary artist who was behind some of the most enduring cartoon characters of all time, such as Daffy Duck, Bugs Bunny and Wile E. Coyote. There is a free screening of the classic movie “Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House” (1948) at the Central Library in Jamaica. Take a trip down musical memory lane with accomplished vocalist Tom Smith. Ever seen that before? Director Richard Linklater broke new ground when he decided to fi lm his movie in this way and it was no surprise when he won the Silver Bear for Best Director at the 64th Berlin International Film Festival. Boyhood is the coming-of-age story of a young boy Mason (Ellar Coltrane), who lives with his older sister Samantha (Lorelei Linklater) and their mother Olivia (Patricia Arquette). The fi lm also stars Ethan Hawke as Mason’s father.
