Members of the Maspeth SelfHelp Senior Center pictured with Assemblywoman Margaret Markey as they boarded a bus Tuesday heading to Queens Theater in the Park to enjoy a holiday performance of Charles Dickens famed play, “A Christmas Carol.” Markey sponsored the free entertainment for Maspeth seniors as well as a similar group from the Woodside Senior Center. State Senator Joseph Addabbo and Assemblyman Mike Miller hosted their annual Christmas Party with the local community at the Avenue Diner, located at 91-06 Jamaica Ave. in Woodhaven on Monday, Dec. 14. A buffet of food was served and local community leaders came to celebrate the holidays. On Dec. 6, Queens Borough President Melinda Katz addressed leaders of the Queens Civic Congress, an umbrella group representing over 100 civic and other community organizations throughout the borough. P.S./M.S. 207 Kiwanis Kids and the Builders Clubs held a Holiday Luncheon on Dec. 16. The event was sponsored by the Ozone Park Kiwanis at the Roma View Caterers in Howard Beach.
