Robert E. Hampton, 83,
of Port Monmouth, NJ,
died on December 8, 2018
at Monmouth Medical Center
He was born in Brooklyn, NY to the late Charles and Catherine Hampton
and lived in Ridgewood, NY before moving to Pt Monmouth last year. He
served Honorably in the US Navy from 1955 to 1957. Robert owned and
operated his own exterminating company. Bob was the founder of the
104th Precinct Hockey League. He was a simple man who enjoyed life's
quiet moments. He was an avid Rangers and Mets fan and was an old
Brooklyn Dodger fan. He enjoyed going to Belmont Park and having a
cold Heineken.
He was a family man first and foremost.
He adored his grandchildren and loved spending time with them.
Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Ann (nee Smith); his three sons, Robert
(Lori) Hampton, Jeffrey (JoAnn) Hampton, and Chris Hampton;
and his 6 grandchildren, Amanda, Jacquelyn, Sydney, Bobby,
Sara, and Zachary.
Visitation was held Sunday, December 16th
from 3 to 5 pm at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home,
115 Tindall Road, Middletown. Funeral services
were scheduled for Monday, December 17th at
12 noon at the funeral home. Burial followed at
Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery,
