4 RIDGEWOOD TIMES HOLIDAY WWW.QNS.COM Kiwanis Queens West hosts holiday fundraiser Members of the Kiwanis Queens West Foundation held a lively tree lighting ceremony at the U.S. Columbarium at the Fresh Pond Crematory on Wednesday, Dec. 7. The tree was adorned with dove ornaments purchased by family members of those who are laid to rest at the Columbarium. Children from the Hour Children organization led the Kiwanians in a cheerful holiday sing along. HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS Glendale Kiwanis makes donation to Salvation Army Tony Sauro, treasurer of the Kiwanis Club of Glendale, presented a check for $500 to Lt. Sirico of the Salvation Army. Every year at Christmastime, the Kiwanis Club of Glendale does the Salvation Bell Ringing on the fi rst Saturday in December. The Kiwanis Club of Glendale matches the day’s donations in the kettle, but always raise it to $500. Sauro has been doing this for 25 years .
