Cops seek
killer
driver
in Maspeth

Police are looking for a
driver who fatally struck a
woman that was crossing a
Maspeth street.
According to authorities, at
1:21 a.m. on Nov. 2, offi cers from
the 108th Precinct responded to
a 911 call regarding a pedestrian
struck on 56th Road east of 48th
Street. Upon their arrival, police
found 39-year-old Tamika Johnson
lying in the road, unconscious
and unresponsive, with trauma
throughout her body.
EMS responded and rushed
Johnson to Elmhurst Hospital
Center, where she ultimately died
of her injuries on Nov. 4.
An investigation by the NYPD’s
Collision Investigation Squad
found that Johnson was crossing
56th Road diagonally from when
she was struck by an unknown
black SUV that was traveling eastbound
on 56th Road. The SUV fl ed
the scene aft er striking Johnson.
No arrests have been made at
this time. The investigation is
ongoing.

Detectives seek suspects
in attempted burglary

The NYPD released video footage
of two men who were caught on
camera allegedly trying to break
into a Middle Village home last month.
Police said the perpetrators attempted
to push an air conditioning unit into
a home located on 77th Place off Eliot
Avenue at 10:46 a.m. on the morning of
Oct. 25.
According to authorities, one of the
men allegedly rang the doorbell before
returning to a gray Dodge Caravan
parked in front of the house, while his
partner attempted to push the window
unit in, police said.
Both men fl ed before they could
enter the home, police said. The incident
was later reported to the 104th
Precinct.
The fi rst suspect is described by
NYPD as a white or Hispanic male of
about 30 years old and standing about
5 foot 9, while the other only described
as a white or Hispanic male of about
the same height.

Glendale man cuff ed
in fatal F.H. hit-and-run

Cops arrested a driver who fatally
struck a man who was crossing a
street in Forest Hills on Sunday.
According to police, at 5:33 p.m.
on Nov. 11, offi cers from the 112th
Precinct responded to a 911 call
regarding a motor vehicle collision
involving a pedestrian struck at the
intersection of Continental Avenue
and Slocum Crescent. Upon their
arrival, the offi cers found 29-yearold
Niklas Ahem lying in the roadway,
unconscious and unresponsive,
with trauma to his head and body.
EMS responded to the scene and
rushed Ahem to Long Island Jewish
Forest Hills Hospital, where he was
pronounced dead.
An investigation by the NYPD Highway
District’s Collision Investigation
Squad found that an unknown vehicle
was traveling northbound on Continental
Avenue and as it approached
Slocum Crescent, it struck Ahem, who
was crossing at the corner of Continental
Avenue at the time.
Upon striking Ahem, who was
then thrown to the pavement, the
vehicle continued northbound from
the location and did not stop.
Following an ongoing investigation,
police arrested 28-year-old Irving
Duran, of 60th Lane in Glendale,
and charged him with leaving the
scene of a vehicle accident resulting
in death.
