Call 718-821-7500 HEDWIG LACKNER of Ridgewood died on Friday, November 6, at the home of her son in Latrobe, Pennsylvania, at the age of 94. Hedwig was born on October 4, 1921, in V e r d r e n g , Yugoslavia, to the late Franz and Josephine Gasparitsch Schemitsch. Hedwig was a faithful member of St. Matthias Church in Ridgewood, was formerly employed by the Shep and Charlie Morris knitting mill and was a wonderful cook who loved to bake for her beloved family. She was the loving mother of Frank and Joan Lackner of Latrobe, devoted grandmother of Joseph and Cathie Pisk, Eric and Kimberly Pisk and Mark Pisk, fond great-grandmother of Jennifer, Joseph, Taylor, Jackson, Jessica and Gianna Pisk, step-grandmother of Jerry and Alison, Paul, Chuck, Drew and Phyllis Kraisinger and step-greatgrandmother of Laura, Joe, Tara, Cameron, Jon Paul, Owen, Elizabeth and Arma, mother-in-law of Joseph Pisk, sister-in-law of Lina Lackner and Maria (Mitzi) Mische and fond aunt to Reinhard and John Schmuck, Joseph and Werner Sommer, Ingrid Samperi, Edmund Schemitsch and Irene Tramposch and Heide Kirmaier, who unselfishly rendered invaluable assistance during Hedwig’s illness. In addition to her parents, Hedwig was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Lackner, infant daughter Elfriede Lackner, daughter Hilda Pisk and sister Josephine Schmuck, Maria (Mimi) Schemitsch and Stephanie Sommer. Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 12, from 2 to 5 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. at Morton Funeral Home/ Ridgewood Chapels, 663 Grandview Ave., Ridgewood. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Friday, November 13, at 10:15 a.m. at St. Matthias Church, Ridgewood, followed by interment at Cypress Hills Cemetery. He was the loving husband of Karen (Hefele) Obermeier, with whom he shared 45 years of marriage. Born in Esting, Germany, he was a son of the late Georg and Rosa (nee Peterander) Obermeier. Kurt was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a former member of the New York Skydivers; was an avid fan of FC Bayern München and was the owner of KMK Waterproofing of Glendale New York. In addition to his wife, Karen, he is survived by daughter Michelle Obermeier and her husband, Brent Walker of Hamilton, N.Y., daughter Gabriella Obermeier and her husband, Patrick Price of Mechanicsburg, brother Günter Obermeier of Germany, sister Elfreiede Steinle of Germany, and grandchildren Avery, Nikolas, Sonja, Madison and Harper. There was a memorial gathering on Tuesday, November 10, at Bolock Funeral Home in Pensylvania.
