Hector Diaz, 35, was found shot in the head in the lobby of an apartment house on Menahan Street between Wyckoff and Irving avenues at about 1:12 a.m. on Nov. 4. Of cers from the 83rd Precinct responded to the scene along with EMS units. Diaz was rushed to Elmhurst Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival. Police said Diaz was shot by an unknown assailant; no description of the killer was provided as of press time on Nov. 11. While the motive remains under investigation, a source familiar with the probe indicated the killing may have been narcotics related. The 83rd Precinct Detective Squad is conducting the investigation.
