Manager Every day—but particularly on Veterans Day—Social Security salutes those who have put their lives on the line for our freedom. Members of the United States armed forces receive expedited processing of their Social Security disability applications. The expedited process is available for any military service member who alleges he or she became disabled during active duty on or after October 1, 2001, regardless of where the disability occurred—at home or in the line of duty. Expedited processing is also available to veterans who have a compensation rating of 100% Permanent and Total (P&T) disability, regardless of when the disability occurred. Some dependent children and spouses of military personnel may also be eligible to receive benefits. The WRBA is asking residents to bring toys to donate to Toys for Tots, and also to come prepared with ideas for the participatory budgeting brainstorm that will occur at the meeting. The Town Hall, at the American Legion 89-02 91st St., will kick off Woodhaven’s second year of inclusion in participatory budgeting. City Council Member Eric Ulrich has earmarked $1 million dollars that will be allocated to projects that residents vote for. Residents will come up with the options on the ballot, and the WRBA Town Hall will be Woodhaven’s first chance to propose ideas. To make the final ballot, ideas must be for physical, tangible projects that cost at least $35,000. The Town Hall will also be a chance for Woodhaven residents to donate toys for the annual Toys for Tots run to St. Mary’s Healthcare System for Children -SEE SOCIAL ON PG. 56- Lighthouse Assembly of God 71-29 68th Place (bet.
