The shuttle buses will stop as follows: • Queensboro Plaza—on Queens Plaza South at 27th Street; • Queens Plaza—on 42nd Road at Jackson Avenue; • Court Square-23rd Street— on Jackson Avenue at 45th Avenue (to Vernon Boulevard-Jackson Avenue) or at Thomson Avenue (to Queensboro Plaza); • Hunters Point Avenue—on 21st Street at 49th Avenue; and • Vernon Boulevard-Jackson Avenue—on Vernon Boulevard at 50th Avenue. Additionally, Flushing-bound 7 trains will skip the 33rd Street, 40th Street, 46th Street, 52nd Street and 69th Street stations on weekdays, Wednesday through Friday, from 10:15 a.m. until 3 p.m. through Friday, Nov. 21. For service to these stations, take the 7 train to Woodside-61st Street or 74th Street, then transfer to a Manhattan-bound 7 train. For service from these stations, take the 7 train to Woodside-61st Street or Queensboro Plaza, then transfer to a Flushing-bound 7 train. A Line Disruption Hits Ozone Park A train service will be suspended between Lefferts Boulevard and Rockaway Boulevard this weekend, from 11:45 p.m. Friday, Nov. 7, until 4:45 a.m. Monday, Nov. 10. A trains will operate between 207th Street in Manhattan and either Howard Beach-JFK Airport or Far Rockaway. Fastrack Program Hits E, F, M & R The MTA’s Fastrack maintenance program will result in service disruptions on the E, F, M and R lines in Queens and Manhattan tonight and tomorrow, Thursday and Friday, Nov. 6-7, from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. During this period, E trains will run local service between Jamaica Center and Roosevelt Avenue. F trains will operate in two sections: between 179th Street-Jamaica and Roosevelt Avenue and between 21st Street- Queensbridge and Stillwell Avenue. M train service between Essex Street and 71st-Continental Avenues will end early tonight, Thursday. M trains will continue to operate between Metropolitan Avenue and Essex Street. Service will also end early on the R line Thursday between 36th Street in Brooklyn and 71st-Continental Avenues. Free shuttle buses will replace subway service between Roosevelt Avenue and Queensboro Plaza, making all local stops. More Disruptions Affect The 7 Train There will be no 7 train service between Queensboro Plaza and Times Square-42nd Street this weekend, from 11:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 7, until 5 a.m. Monday, Nov. 10.; and early morning on Tuesday, Nov. 11, and Thursday, Nov. 13, from 1:30 to 5 a.m. Trains will operate normally between Main Street and Queensboro Plaza. During the weekend disruption, Q trains will run to Astoria-Ditmars Boulevard on Saturday from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. For service between Queens and Manhattan, transfer to the N or Q trains at Queensboro Plaza or Times Square-42nd Street or the E, F or R trains at Roosevelt Avenue. Free shuttle buses will replace 7 trains in Long Island City between Queensboro Plaza and Vernon Boulevard-Jackson Avenue. These trains will also stop at Queens Plaza for ADAaccessible connections to the E and R lines. TRAFFIC NEWS and Updates New York City Department Of Transportation resurfacing work on the following streets: • 60th Place between 75th and St. Felix avenues in Glendale for paving on Thursday, Nov. 6; • 60th Street between St. Felix and Cooper avenues in Glendale for paving on Thursday, Nov. 6; • 61st Street between Myrtle and St. Felix avenues in Glendale for paving on Friday, Nov. 7; • 64th Street between Eliot and Metropolitan avenues in Middle Village for paving on Friday, Nov. 7; • 78th Avenue between Cypress Avenue and 60th Lane in Glendale for paving on Friday, Nov. 7; • 84th Street between 58th and Eliot avenues in Middle Village for paving on Thursday, Nov. 6; and • Caldwell Avenue between 74th and 80th streets in Middle Village for paving on Thursday, Nov. 6. Lane Closures On Van Wyck Expwy. One of three lanes in each direction of the Van Wyck Expressway between Jewel Avenue and Union Turnpike may be closed on Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. due to construction work related to the Kew Gardens rehabilitation project. Additionally, up to two lanes in either direction of the expressway in the same section may be closed -SEE TRAFFIC ON PG. 52- Street Cleaning Suspended Tues. Alternate side parking rules will be suspended on Tuesday, Nov. 11, in observance of Veterans Day. Meter regulations, however, will remain in effect citywide. * * * Because of ongoing construction work at several locations throughout Queens and Brooklyn, the city DOT has announced numerous street closures in local neighborhoods for the upcoming week. The announced diversions are current as of Wednesday, Nov. 5, and weather permitting. The DOT may shut down other roads should the need for emergency repairs arise. Streets and highways that are affected by closures during this week include the following: More Sat. Closures For Grand St. Br. The Grand Street Bridge over the Newtown Creek will be closed the next two Saturdays—Nov. 8 and 15—from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. for deck grating repairs. Drivers are advised to use Flushing and Metropolitan avenues as alternate routes while traveling between East Williamsburg and Maspeth. Street Resurfacing In Maspeth, Midville Weather permitting, DOT crews will perform street Officers Honored At 112th Council Meet In Forest Hills Four members of the 112th Precinct picked up Cop of the Month awards for their outstanding work during the 112th Precinct Community Council meeting last Monday night, Oct. 27, at the Forest Hills stationhouse. Police Officers Thomas Daniele and Michael Carswell of the precinct’s Grand Larceny Unit (left photo) were recognized for arresting four men on Oct. 2 who allegedly tried to remove tires and rims off a parked vehicle in the precinct’s confines. Additionally, Police Officers Terrence Williams and John Tan (right photo) received awards for arresting three men—one of whom was armed with a semi-automatic gun—who got into a dispute following a recent vehicular accident. Presenting the officers with their plaques were Capt. Judith Harrison, 112th Precinct commanding officer; Assemblyman Andrew Hevesi, the meeting’s guest speaker; Heidi Harrison Chain, precinct council president; and other precinct council members.
