Fall fest just
one way bank
‘multiplies good’
BY EMMA MILLER
Hundreds of Ridgewood residents
enjoyed Ridgewood
Savings Bank’s annual fall
festival this past Sunday.
Leonard Stekol, president and
CEO of the bank, said that there
were “close to a thousand” people
at the event that included pumpkins,
face painting and infl atables.
“It was a little bit of a colder October
day, a little bit windy, but we
had lines at every single station
and lots of giveaways,” said Stekol.
“It went extremely well.”
The bank has been holding the
festival in the parking lot of their
main branch for at least eight
years. This year’s festival was on
Oct. 21 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Ridgewood Savings has
many other community events
throughout the year, including
homebuyer and fi nancial literacy
workshops. They also sponsor
concerts, live music and other
events.
Stekol said that their focus on
the people in their area “separates
the community bank from regional
and national institutions.”
“It’s the future of community
relations,” he said.
According to Stekol, Ridgewood
Savings’ community involvement
will continue to grow, as their
employees put in more volunteer
hours each year. Ridgewood has
also donated over one million
dollars to hundreds of nonprofi ts.
Employees of Ridgewood
Savings do not have to volunteer,
but they want to. “It’s been the
culture with the bank for the past
97 years - at least the past 25 years
that I’ve been here,” said Stekol.
Employees who are active
volunteers are recognized by
the bank at Spirit of Ridgewood
events where they receive trophies
and other awards.
Stekol said that he is proud of
Ridgewood Savings Bank, both
for their community involvement
and for how they are able to help
their customers.
“We continue to deliver value
to customers and continue to
innovate,” he said.
Ridgewood Bank hosts
a fun fall festival
From rom games to bouncy castles
castles
and more, there was something
for everyone during the Fall Festival
that Ridgewood Savings Bank hosted
at its main branch in Ridgewood on
Oct. 21. Children got to pick out their
own pumpkin and take photos in the
pumpkin patch, and also got to have
their faces painted.
