Additional information can be found online at www.queensfalcons.net Teams Travel Far & Wide For Tourneys Above, the Blau Weiss Gottschee Pre Academy Boys won first place at the U13 Deer Park Columbus Cup over the recent holiday weekend. Below, the Blau Weiss Gottsche U10 Royals won first place at the Deer Park Columbus Cup over the holiday weekend. Several Blau Weiss Gottschee teams competed in the Brooklyn Italians Columbus Cup and Deer Park tournaments. At the Brooklyn Italians Columbus Cup U8 Blue lost in the final to SDFC Union from New Jersey 6-2. The squad won games against NY Stars Premiere, Silver Lake Sharks and Auburndale Academy to capture second place in the tournament. U9 Blue lost their opening game against the Future Stars, but won their other games against Manhattan Kickers and Eastchester. The team won second place in their group but did not advance to the playoffs. U9 White lost one group game against Asphalt Green and reached the semifinals by beating Teaneck and Intermax. They then lost a hard-fought semifinal game against the New York Stars, coming up short of the finals. U10 Blue won their first game in the group against Albertson and Watching Hills from New Jersey, tied their last match against Clarkstown and won first place in their group. However, the team lost the semifinal game against SDFC Union from New Jersey. U10 White played three thrilling matches with a 4-1 victory over Silver Lake Hawks, lost 4-2 against Met Oval White and played to a 2-2 tie in an even match against Jigs Academy 2004. U11 White finished second in their group after winning games against the Brooklyn Italians and Farmingdale. They lost in the semifinals against the Albertson Academy. U11 Blue won against Alleycats, tied against Met Oval but lost against White Plains. At the Deer Park Columbus Cup Tournament, the U10 Royals won first place in their group, beating FC Woodhaven, HBC, Terryville and Deer Park. U12 Pre Academy won first place in their U13 division, winning games against West Islip, Manorville and Deer Park. U12 Pre Academy White won the Hempstead Columbus Cup. To win the title, they won against Albertson, Great Neck and White Plains. The U10 Royals team won first place in Deer Park as well. The Blau Weiss Gottschee Girls 98 Blue team won first place in the East Islip Columbus Cup. The girls won against Kings Park SC, East Islip and Sachem. The squad defeated Kings Park again in the final.
