Yet, it is alleged, Izquierdo only reported taxable vehicle repairs totaling $1,223,229. Vehicle repairs are subject to both New York State and New York City taxes.According to the criminal complaint, the additional tax revenue owed to the state and city totaled $151,607.32—with An East Elmhurst auto body shop and its owner have been charged with grand larceny and other crimes for allegedly cheating New York City and State out of more than $150,000 in collectible tax revenue, prosecutors anounced on Tuesday, Sept. 30. Gunman Gets Big Bucks In Queens Zoo Robbery Takes Thousands During Wild Caper by Noah Zuss About an hour before closing, the Queens Zoo received a visit from a gun-toting robber who swiped thousands in cash on Sunday afternoon, Sept. 28, police reported. Law enforcement sources said the wild caper took place at about 4 p.m. at the zoo located within Flushing Meadows- Corona Park, off the intersection of 111th Street and 52nd Avenue. According to authorities, the suspect—described as a Hispanic male in his 30s— allegedly confronted two workers at the entrance booth. Police said he put a gun to the head of one of the workers and demanded cash from the other. After the second employee handed more than $4,800 in cash, the suspect fled on foot, police stated. Officers from the 110th Precinct responded to the scene; there were no reported injuries. According to published reports, the suspect is 5’9”-tall and weighs around 150 lbs. Reportedly, cameras at the zoo were not operating at the time of the heist. The case has been assigned to the 110th Precinct Detective squad, officials said.
