Members and residents had the chance to meet senatorial candidate Michael Conigliaro, as well as discuss important local issues such as park safety and traffic concerns. Conigliaro was on hand to introduce himself to the group and answer some of their questions. He is running on the Republican and Conservative lines against incumbent Democrat State Sen. Joseph Addabbo in the District 15 state -SEE FOCA ON PG. 53- by Robert Pozarycki A Corona motorcyclist died early on Sunday morning, Sept. 28, after losing control of his ride and crashing into another motorcycle stopped at a Glendale intersection, police reported. Law enforcement sources identified him as 38-year-old David Malave of Saultell Avenue. Reportedly, the accident occurred at about 4:13 a.m. Sunday morning at the corner of Cypress Avenue and Cypress Hills Street, near the Jackie Robinson Parkway. According to information obtained by police, Malave was operating his motorcycle eastbound on Cypress Avenue approaching the intersection when his ride struck the curb. The collision reportedly -SEE BIKER ON PG. 27- Drone Flight Gets In Way Of Search Impeded In Bushwick Investigation A drone similar to this one flying over Bushwick reportedly interfered with a police investigation last month. by Robert Pozarycki A Bushwick man was recently arrested for allegedly flying a camera-equipped drone toward an NYPD helicopter during a missing person’s search, police announced on Tuesday night, Sept. 30. Law enforcement agents identified the perpetrator as Isaac Rosa, 34, of Central Avenue. Reportedly, the incident occurred just before midnight on Sept. 17 as the NYPD Aviation Unit participated in a search through Bushwick for a reported missing individual. According to police, pilots on board an NYPD Aviation Unit helicopter spotted a DJI Phantom II remote controlled drone—a quadcopter generally valued at more than $1,200 and equipped with a GoPro Hero camera— climbing over the area and getting close to their chopper.
