OBITUARIES
STELUTA MIOSCU, of Ridgewood, died
Wednesday, Sept. 23, at the age of 82. A native
of Vladimirovac, Yugoslavia, she was
the beloved wife of the late George Mioscu
and devoted mother of Violetta Ciccotto.
She is also survived by one grandchild. Services
were offered at Morton Funeral Home/
Ridgewood Chapels by Rev. Daniel, followed
by interment in Linde Hill Cemetery,
Ridgewood, under the direction of Morton
Funeral Home/Ridgewood Chapels.

CHRISTINA JONKE, of Ridgewood, died
Monday, Sept. 14, at the age of 98. A native
of Mitegras Gottschee, Yugoslavia, she was
the beloved wife of the late John Jonke and
devoted mother of Sonja Schneider, Norbert
Jonke, and Maria Janesch. She is also survived
by three grandchildren. A Mass of
Christian Burial was offered at Our Lady
of the Miraculous Medal R.C. Church, followed
by interment in Lutheran All Faiths
Cemetery, Middle Village, under the direction
of Morton Funeral Home/Ridgewood
Chapels.

MLADEN VRANKOVIC died Friday, Sept.
25, at the age of 70. He was the beloved husband
of Alice Vrankovic and loving father
of Anthony, Christopher and Andrew. A
Mass of Christian Burial was offered at
Transfiguration Church on Wednesday,
Sept. 30, followed by interment at Citizens
Cemetery, Flagstaff, AZ., under the direction
of Papavero Funeral Home, Maspeth.

ERNESTO PIÑA died Tuesday, Sept. 22,
at the age of 81. He was the beloved husband
of Olimpia Piña, loving father of Betty
Hanson and Ernesto Piña, father-in-law of
Don, and cherished grandfather of Justin
and Brandon. He is also survived by many
loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at
St. Matthias Church on Monday, Sept. 28,
followed by interment at Maple Grove Cemetery,
Kew Gardens, under the direction of
Papavero Funeral Home, Maspeth.

MARIE C. HELLMANN (NEE LAUTERBACH)
died Tuesday, Sept. 22, at the age of
97. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph
V. Hellmann Sr., cherished daughter of
the late Andrew and Louise Lauterbacj, loving
mother of Joseph V. Hellmann Jr. (Mary),
James A. Hellmann Sr. (Elaine), Mary Louis
“Mary Lou,” and the late Baby Kenny. “Kooky
Nanny’s” memories of love, laughter and
song will forever be cherished by her eight
grandchildren Kenneth (Denise), Joseph
(Kristin), the late James “Little Kimmy”
*Kristen), Lorraine (Bryan), Suzanne (Beau),
Kathleen (Phil), Marybeth and Colleen, as
well as by her 13 great-grandchildren Faith,
Harry, Kathleen, Olivia, Parker, Kaydence,
Justin, Adaleah, Isabella, Abigail, Liam,
Mackenzie and Riley. A Mass of Christian
Burial was offered at St. Margaret’s Church
on Friday, Sept. 25, follwed by interment at
St. John Cemetery, Middle Village, under
the direction of Papavero Funeral Home,
Maspeth.

Tuesday, Sept. 29. She was the beloved mother
of JoAnn Durbin and the late Warren
and mother-in-law of Chuck, loving grandmother
of Tara, Lacey and Erin, cherished
great-grandmother of Kyle, Olivia, Meralyse
and Maverick, and dear sister of the late Ida
Sheridan, Michael Lipani and Leo Lipani.
A Mass of Christian Burial will offered at
St. Adalbert’s Church on Tuesday, Oct. 6,
followed by interment at St. John Cemetery,
Middle Village, under the direction of Papavero
Funeral Home, Maspeth.
