Pol Takes Office On District Tour Set To Visit Many Locations Assemblyman Phil Goldfeder announced the arrival and schedule of his mobile office tour across his district in southern Queens and Rockaway during the months of August and September to ensure that every constituent has the opportunity to discuss issues in the community. “I understand residents don't always have the time to drop by my district offices, especially as they rebuild after Sandy, which is why I’m bringing my office to them,” Goldfeder said. “My mobile office makes it easier for residents to speak with me and my staff about personal or community concerns. I met hundreds of people on last summer’s tour and looking forward to another great round of visits.” Goldfeder’s mobile office will offer assistance and provide local residents the opportunity and convenience to share their personal concerns face-to-face without leaving their own backyard. Below, find the dates, times and locations of Assemblyman Goldfeder's summer mobile offices: • Today, Aug. 14, 6 p.m.-8 p.m. at the Catholic Club located at 204-10 Rockaway Point Blvd. in Breezy Point. • Tuesday, Aug. 19, 3-6 p.m., Lindenwood Shopping Center located at 82-35 153rd Ave. in Lindenwood. • Wednesday, Aug. 20, 11 a.m.-1 p.m., West Hamilton Beach Volunteer Fire House located at 102-33 Davenport Ct. in Hamilton Beach • Tuesday, Aug. 26, 10 a.m.-1 p.m., JASA-Brookdale Village Senior Center located at 125th Beach 19th St. in Far Rockaway • Thursday, Aug. 28, 3-6 p.m., Waldbaums located at 156-01 Cross Bay Blvd. in Howard Beach • Sunday, Sept. 7, 11 a.m.-3 p.m., Young Israel of Wavecrest and Bayswater located at 27-16 Healy Ave. in Bayswater • Tuesday, Sept. 9, 3-6 p.m., Rock 'n Roll Bagel located at Corner of E. 21st Rd. & Cross Bay Blvd. in Broad Channel. For a $10 admission, each guest will get unlimited rides on the carousel, which last year was designated a New York City landmark. Children will also get a chance to enjoy face painting, music and entertainment. Individual rides will also be available for a $3 charge. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Alzheimer’s Association in its ongoing effort to research the degenerative neurological disease, treat those afflicted with it and support their caregivers. The evening ride precedes the Alzheimer’s Association’s “Walk to End Alzheimer’s” scheduled to take place on Sunday morning, Sept. 28, at 10:30 a.m. at Flushing Meadows- Corona Park. The two-mile walk, which begins at the corner of 111th Street and 56th Avenue, is expected to generate $125,000 for the organization. Those interested in lacing up their sneakers and raising funds at the walk are encouraged to register at www.alznyc.org/queenswalk or call 1-800-272-3900. Incentive prizes are available for walkers who raise various levels of money. “Alzheimer’s is a devastating disease that does not discriminate,” said Lou-Ellen Barkan, president and CEO of the Alzheimer’s Association. “Queens is such a large and diverse borough and the chapter serves so many families that make up this wonderful part of our city. I encourage Queens residents to join us at our walk and take steps as one community to end this heartbreaking disease.” Scouts Collect Blood In Middle Village More than 30 pints of blood were collected from donors during a blood drive organized by Boy Scout Troop 106 and the American Red Cross last Saturday, Aug. 9, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Middle Village.
