Police said Julian Soto, 23, of South Second Street inWilliamsburg; Josie Taveras, 23, of Driggs Avenue inWilliamsburg; andAnthony Colon, 27, of Milford Street in East New York suffered injuries in the accident at the corner of Hamilton Place and westbound Borden Avenue. While Soto and Colon suffered minor injuries, law enforcement sources stated, Taveras was hospitalized in critical condition after suffering severe head trauma. Each of them, however, were placed in police custody after officers discovered unspecified quantities of heroin and marijuana in the 2004 red Nissan Maxima they rode in. No passengers were on board the 10-seat vehicle when the blaze ignited at about 4:15 p.m. as it traveled southbound on Woodhaven Boulevard near Eliot Avenue.
