Now in its sixth year, and with more than 400 students, In Motion Dance Center of NY has been crowned the “Best of the Boro” every year since the contest’s inception. “I definitely see an increase in my client base,” Delgrosso said. “It has helped us and given us notoriety.” Delgrosso, who is a nonverbal psychotherapist with a background in dance, explained that In Motion Dance Center of NY began in 2011 in a church basement as a social skills group for children with special needs. With 20 years of experience, she felt it was a “great idea to expand my services and integrate those children who were ready to socialize and have higher models.” Now located in a 7,000-squarefoot facility in the Whitepoint Shopping Center in College Point, In Motion Dance Center of NY serves children and adults from as far away as Staten Island, Brooklyn and the Bronx. “Everyone needs an outlet and a form of creativity,” she explained. “Dance is a great way to socialize.” And with an “expert” staff, Delgrosso has seen the results firsthand. So what does she think about this year’s Best of the Boro, with nominations open through Aug. 5? “I do think winning ‘Best of the Boro’ has helped me,” she said. “I would love to continue my winning streak.” To be a part of the “Best of the Boro,” simply nominate your business here: http://bestof.qns.com/. Nominations in more than 400 business categories are now open through Aug. 5. The top 10 nominees will advance to the official ballot.
