ROBBERS CHOKE
OUT A BICYCLIST
A man who was riding
his bike to work was ripped
off his bike and robbed in
Woodside, police said.
On June 23 at approximately
10:20 p.m., the 40-year-old
victim was riding his bike in
the vicinity of 47th Avenue
and 67th Street. Three men
approached the victim and
one of the suspect’s grabbed
him from behind, pulled him
off his bicycle and put him
in a choke hold while the
other accomplices stole his
cellphone and bag.
The men fl ed and when
police arrived, the victim
refused medical attention.
The suspects are described
as Hispanic men approximately
20 to 30 years old.

BUST NETS 5
ARRESTS
Cops cuff ed fi ve people and
recovered a stash of painkillers
and marijuana during a
raid at a Woodside home earlier
this week, prosecutors
announced on Friday.
Queens District Attorney
Richard A. Brown said that
Jasper Davis, 26, of Elmhurst,
Alnerfo Orfanei, 64, of Bogota,
New Jersey, and Alex Herrera,
56, Josephine Paguio, 55,
and Marilyn Castro, 45, all
of Woodside, have all been
charged with second- , third-
and fi ft h- degree criminal
possession of a controlled
substance, fi rst-degree criminal
possession of marijuana
and unlawful possession of
marijuana. Additionally,
Herrera and Paguio are
additionally charged with
unlawful possession of pistol
or revolver ammunition.
According to charges,
at 6 a.m. on Wednesday,
June 28, police conducted
a court-authorized search
warrant at 41-06 69th St.
in Woodside. Once inside,
police entered the basement
and allegedly found
138 bags and seven jars of
crystal methamphetamine
on top of a dresser; 11 bags
of marijuana stashed in
a cabinet; and two bags
containing psychedelic
mushrooms in a safe.
As police searched the
basement, they opened
a cabinet and allegedly
found 79 oxycodone pills,
103 methylenedioxymethamphetamine
pills (which
is known as MDMA or by
the street name Molly),
47 clonazepam pills, 142
alprazolam pills and 50
amphetamine pills.
Charges also state that
Paguio was allegedly found
inside a rear third-floor
bedroom, where police
recovered eight rounds
of .25-caliber ammunition
inside a box on top of the
room’s dresser along with
additional bags of marijuana.
Bail was set at $300,000 for
Herrera, $100,000 for both
Davis and Castro, $50,000
for Paguio, and $10,000 for
Orfanei. If convicted, all of
the defendants face up to 10
years in prison.
