Celebrating the Fourth
early in Astoria
The World’s Borough hosted an
early celebration of Independence
Day last week with a spectacular
fi reworks display in Astoria.
On June 28, the Central Astoria Local
Development Corporation held its
annual Independence Day fi reworks
show. Thousands gathered on the Astoria
Park Great Lawn to marvel at the
rockets red glare and bombs bursting
in the air above the Astoria waterfront
between the Hell Gate Bridge and the
Triborough Bridge.
