Taking steps to fight cancer in Middle Village
Hundreds took part in the American Cancer Society’s annual Relay for Life at Middle Village’s Juniper Valley Park the weekend of June 22-23. The
overnight relay began on Saturday afternoon and continued through the night and into early the following morning, with teams of runners and
walkers raising more than $120,000 for the society’s cancer research and treatment programs. Numerous community groups, such as Middle Village
Preparatory Charter School, the Kiwanis Club of Glendale and Maspeth Federal Savings, took part in the event. Photos by Dean Moses
