REVEREND FR. YOHANNA TADROS
GUIRGIS of Ridgewood died on
Tuesday, May 22, at the age of 95. A native
of Cairo, Egypt, he was the beloved
husband of Samia Hanna Guirgis and
devoted father of Mark Guirgis and
Rafi k Guirgis. He was the founding
pastor of St. Mary’s and St. Antonio’s
Coptic Orthodox Church, Ridgewood.
A Divine Liturgy was off ered at St.
Mary’s and St. Antonio’s Coptic Orthodox
Church, followed by interment
at Linden Hill Cemetery, Ridgewood,
under the direction of Morton Funeral
Home/Ridgewood Chapels, 663 Grandview
Ave., Ridgewood.

NANCY PETROZZINO died on
Sunday, May 27, at the age of 93. She
was the wife of the late Salvatore, loving
mother of Salvatore and his wife,
Donnamarie, cherished grandmother
of Gabriella, Julia, Samantha, Noelle
and Nicholas and dear sister of Helen
Caiff a and Frank Catapano, and the
late Dominick, Pasquale, Jerry, Eddie,
Junior, Josephine Oddo and Antoinette
Romeo. A Mass of Christian Burial will
be off ered at 10:45 a.m. on Friday, June
1, at Our Lady of Hope Church, Middle
Village, followed by interment at
Calvary Cemetery, Woodside, under
the direction of Papavero Funeral

DENNIS C. CHRISTIANA of Glendale
died on Friday, May 25, at the age
of 76. He was the beloved husband of
Barbara Christiana, devoted father
of Mary and Barry Novack, Jane and
Scott Asbury, Ann Christiana and
Daniel Christiana, dear brother of
James Christiana and loving grandfather
of George Novack. He was also
a member of the Lessing Lodge 608
of Free & Accepted Masons. A Mass
of Christian Burial was off ered at St.
Pancras Church, Glendale, followed
by interment at Calverton National
Cemetery, Calverton, NY, under the
direction of George Werst Funeral

Friday, May 25, at the age of 86. She
was the wife of the late Nicholas
Durante, loving mother of Michelle
and Gary Salerno, Michael and Robin
Durante, and Rosemarie and Dom
Melchiorre, cherished grandmother
of Jennifer, Christina and Adrian, Alexandra,
Aliza, Nicholas and Marie,
great-grandmother of Isabella, A.J.,
Angelo, Antonia and Cali, and sister
of the late Joseph S. Parisi. A Mass
of Christian Burial was off ered on
Wednesday, May 30, at Transfiguration
Church, Maspeth, followed
by interment at St. John Cemetery,
Middle Village, under the direction of

May 25, at the age of 83. He was the
beloved husband of Genevieve Foris,
loving father of George, Mark, Maryann
and Matthew, father-in-law of Dorothy
and Jean, cherished grandfather
of Mark, Lisa, Kathryn and George
and great-grandfather of Christopher,
Joseph and Steven. He was a U.S. Navy
