MIDDLE VILLAGE
MIDVILLE PUNCHER
CUFFED FOR
ROBBERY
Police recently arrested a
Middle Village man who allegedly
punched another man
and stole his phone in April —
his third arrest this year alone.
Ladislav Ruc, 36, was arrested
on April 26 aft er being on
the run for nearly two weeks.
According to court records,
Ruc confronted the 34-yearold
male victim on April 13 at
approximately 5:40 p.m. and
left him with a contusion to his
eyebrow before driving away
with the stolen phone.
According to the criminal complaint
from the Queens District
Attorney’s office, Ruc allegedly
told police that he only took the
phone to hold it as “collateral.”
Yet, aft er stealing the phone
he allegedly committed another
crime minutes later. Court
records show that Ruc is
accused of taking a cellphone
to his spouse’s home and
dropping it off , which was a
violation of the temporary
protective order she had
against him.
The temporary protective
order stems back to Ruc’s
fi rst arrest of the year on Jan.
5 during a domestic dispute.
The criminal complaint states
that at approximately 1:51 p.m.
at a residence on 79th Place, a
verbal argument between Ruc
and his spouse escalated.
Ruc then allegedly picked
up his spouse’s zippered
hoodie that was hanging on
a hanger, poured lighter fl uid
onto it and lit it on fi re, saying,
“You think everything
is a joke,” court records show.
Ruc then allegedly waved
his arm at his spouse while
holding the lighter fl uid and
pushed her, causing her to
fall to the ground, the complaint
states.
Their children — a 4-yearold
boy and a 6-year-old boy
— were both present for the
altercation, records show.
Ruc was held on $1,500 bond
or cash bail at the time, but
ultimately released later.
In March, Ruc wound up
in cuffs again when he got
caught allegedly breaking
into cars in Flushing.
