See page 3 Bushwick grandpa cuffed for fatal stabbing by Anthony Giudice agiudice@ridgewoodtimes.com, @AGiudice_Report A family argument turned deadly when an 81-year-old man stabbed his granddaughter’s 21-year-old boyfriend in the chest on Sunday, April 12, police reported. According to published reports, the victim, Kevin Rivera of Bushwick, was visiting his girlfriend’s house at 1225 B r o a d w a y when the argument took place. During the dispute, it is (photo courtesy of NYPD) alleged that Nicolas Diaz Nicolas Diaz stepped in and stabbed Rivera in the chest. Officers from the 83rd Precinct and EMS units responded to the 911 call, when they found Rivera with a knife wound in his chest, police said. EMS units transported the victim to Woodhull Medical Center where he was later pronounced deceased, officers reported. Members of the 83rd Precinct Detective Squad took Diaz into custody Monday on charges of manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon, law enforcement sources said. Court records indicated Diaz was ordered held without bail at his arraignment on Monday; he is scheduled to return to court on April 17.
