The winning 8th grade and 12th grade students must be preparing to enter his/her freshman year at a recognized High School or University by September 2016. There will be four (4) $1500 Charles Scheer Memorial Scholarships awarded to incoming college freshman. In addition, there will be four (4) $500 Memorial Scholarships to local students who will be entering their freshman year of high school. The awards are not transferable. For over 60 years, the Kiwanis Club of Glendale has served our community and its youth. In this spirit of service, this scholarship program was instituted to recognize and promote good citizenship and academic excellence among the youth of our neighborhoods. The winners will be selected by a committee of Kiwanis members, based on which nominees best meet the established criteria. A nominee will be evaluated on scholastic achievement, community service, and career goals, each weighed individually and equally.
