JOSEPH H. ORTIZ of Howard Beach
died on Sunday, March 18, at the age of
69. A native of Jana Diaz, Puerto Rico,
he was the beloved husband of Mayra,
devoted father of Joseph Ortiz, Annette
Ortiz, Yolanda Ortiz, Steven Ortiz and
Richard Ortiz and dear brother of
Thomas Ortiz, Arnaldo Ortiz, Orlando
Ortiz and Jorge Ortiz. He is also
survived by three grandchildren and
was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.
Services were off ered at Christ Tabernacle
Church, Glendale, by Reverend
Michael Durso, followed by interment
at Calverton National Cemetery, Calverton,
NY, under the direction of Morton
Funeral Home/Ridgewood Chapels,

FLOARE LAZAR of Middle Village
died on Thursday, March 15, at the age
of 63. A native of Saruad, Romania,
she was the beloved wife of Ion Lazar,
devoted mother of Felician Lazar and
Gina Lazar and dear sister of Gheorghe
Ardelean, Ion Ardelean, Augustin
Ardelean and Vasile Ardelean. She is
also survived by three grandchildren.
A Divine Liturgy was off ered at
Descent of the Holy Spirit Romanian
Orthodox Church, Ridgewood, by Reverend
Viorel Dimitrescu, followed by
interment at Mount Olivet Cemetery,
Maspeth, under the direction of Morton
Funeral Home/Ridgewood Chapels,

Wednesday, March 14, at the age of 72.
A native of Ranilovic, Yugoslavia, he
was the beloved husband of Desanka
Djotunovic and devoted father of Natalija
Novakovic. Services were off ered

IRIS LAIRD died on Tuesday, March
13, at the age of 79. She was the wife of
the late Joseph Laird, loving mother of
Joseph Laird, cherished grandmother of
Robert and dear sister of Stella Nicotra.
She was also a dear aunt to many loving
nieces and nephews. Services were offered
on Monday, March 19, at Papavero
Funeral Home, 72-27 Grand Ave., Maspeth,
followed by interment at Calverton
National Cemetery, Calverton, NY.

T. GORDON WALDVOGEL of Glendale
died on Tuesday, March 13, at the
age of 94. A native of Steamboat Rock,
Iowa, he was the husband of the late
Martha Waldvogel, devoted father of
Philip J. Waldvogel, Janet Colon, Ruth
Stubbs and the late David Waldvogel,
son of the late Gottfried Waldvogel
and Lydia Sievers and dear brother of
Eugene Waldvogel. He is also survived
by seven grandchildren and four
great-grandchildren. He was founder
and pastor of the Williamsburgh Pentecostal
Church for more than seven
decades, and a U.S. Army veteran. Services
were off ered at Williamsburgh
Pentecostal Church, Brooklyn, followed
by interment at Maple Grove Cemetery,
Kew Gardens, under the direction of
Morton Funeral Home/Ridgewood Chapels,

March 10, at the age of 95. A native
of Brooklyn, she was the wife of the

March 1, at the age of 83. He was the
beloved husband of Rosita Lim Ting,
loving father of Arlene Ting and cherished
grandfather of Alison and Kyle.
