Crooks mace
a teen’s face
in robbery

Police still need your help in fi nding
two thieves who attacked
a teenager in Maspeth and
stole the jacket he was trying to sell.
Law enforcement sources said
the incident occurred at 4 p.m.
on March 11 in front of a home on
Maspeth Avenue near 64th Street.
According to authorities, a 15-yearold
boy put his jacket up for sale
through the LetGo smartphone app,
and arranged to meet up with the
buyer at the location to close the deal.
When he arrived, police said,
he was met by two unidentifi ed
individuals who then sprayed him
with an unknown substance, then
forcibly removed the jacket and
fl ed the scene. They were last seen
heading toward the intersection of
64th Street and Perry Avenue.
The incident was later reported
to the 104th Precinct; the victim
suff ered minor injuries.
On March 16, police released security
camera video of the suspects
fl eeing the scene.
One of the thieves was described
as a white man between 5 foot 6 and
5 foot 7 inches tall with curly hair
who was wearing a red jacket with a
gray top, a gray hooded sweatshirt,
dark pants and white sneakers.
The other suspect was described as
a white or Hispanic man standing between
5 foot 10 and 5 foot 11 inches tall
with brown hair and a light mustache
wearing a dark winter hat, a dark
hooded sweatshirt, gray sweatpants
and black sneakers with white soles.
