The diocesan gold medal winners were bantam Andrew Kelly and senior Zara McPartland for their 800-meter run, junior Kacper Niepokoj and novice Olaia Higgins for their performance in the 400-meter run. Junior Owen Kelly and senior Ainara Higgins jumped their way to the gold in the long jump. The Flyers’ silver medalists were senior Nicholas Catapano for the 800- meter run, senior John Ostling for the 400-meter run, and novice Brian Honan and bantam Mackenize Collin for their distance in the long jump. Both junior Ricky Hubert and Josiah Boulet earned bronze medals for their performances in the 800-meter run and the 400-meter run, respectively. Equally impressive were the Flyers’ other medalist, junior Tadhg McPartland for the 200-meter, bantam Sean Reilly for the 400-meter run and bantam Roisin Wrynn for the 800- meter run. Winning a medal for their performance in the 800-meter medley were junior boys Victor Ostling, Stephen Heedy, Ciaran Mcaree and John Boger. Also receiving medals for their placement were novice Isadora Mulligan for her long jump and peewees Kaylee Ruiz, Nora Wrynn and Gavin Walsh for their 200-meter run. The final medal recipients were peewees Sadie Donahue and Ciara Reilly for their 55-meter dash. The Flyers coaches are extremely proud of all who participated, especially novices Conn Reilly, Stephan Hohan, Anthony Pedicini, Grace Finnegan; bantams Jack Larkin, Sean Walsh, Nora Olmo, Lin Finnegan; juniors Jayde Sabin and Shauna Hurson; and senior Nina Allen for their 200-meter run. The coaches are also proud of juniors Elias Mulligan and Isabella Cedeno, and bantams Athalia Mulligan and Paulina Lisowski for their excellent effort in the 400-meter run; junior Bryanna Hurson for her 800-meter run; novice Thomas Fischer and junior Ella McPartland for their 55-meter dash; and Jack Fischer for his long jump. Sacred Heart Wildcat cheerleaders bring home two medals over the weekend The Sacred Heart Wildcat cheerleaders attended a CYO competition at Holy Trinity High School in Hicksville on Sunday, March 13, where they won two medals, one is the highest award of Sportsmanship and a Cheer Excellence award for their participation.
