Pozarycki spent a decade at the Times Newsweekly and Ridgewood Times, starting out as a freelance reporter in 2004 before moving up to full-time status a year later. He was named associate editor in 2013 and was promoted to managing editor the following year. When Schneps Communications purchased the Times Newsweekly and Ridgewood Times in February, Pozarycki was named the paper’s editorin chief. He will continue in this role while serving as editor-in-chief at The Courier and Courier-Sun. Tom Topousis, the previous editor-inchief of The Courier and Courier-Sun, moved on to the governor’s office. “We are thrilled to have Robert as editor-in-chief of our group of awardwinning community newspapers. He is experienced, knowledgeable and dedicated to our mission of excellence,” said co-publishers Victoria Schneps-Yunis and Joshua Schneps. “As an experienced reporter, editor, resident and parent in the borough, he understands how important our coverage is to our readers.” “It’s an honor and a pleasure to join The Courier and Courier-Sun,” Pozarycki said. “I’m looking forward to working with our dedicated news team to continue growing and enhancing our coverage across the borough.” A lifelong Queens resident, Pozarycki graduated from Archbishop Molloy High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in history from St. Joseph’s College in Brooklyn. He resides in Middle Village with his wife, Melanie, and son, David.
