Our transit system is
in full blown crisis.
We need congestion
pricing to help Queens.
What are the benefits of congestion pricing?
Congestion pricing reduces traffic, cuts air pollution, and increases funding
for public transportation. The plan is to charge vehicles entering Manhattan
below 60th Street at certain times, and use the revenue for transit improvements
across NYC.
Here's what's at stake:
A replaced and upgraded Mets-Willets Point LIRR station and access to
proposed LaGuardia AirTrain Station
Direct LIRR service into Grand Central once East Side Access is complete
Waterproofing and rehabilitating the LIRR Flushing Main Street bridge
180 subway stations fully ADA accessible with elevators
Up to 1.5 hours a week in time saved for express bus riders
More than 3,000 new subway cars on the tracks
