Quiet Events and Astoria’s premiere
gastropub Katch Astoria team up to
combine the intellectual comradery
of trivia and the fun lightheartedness
of comedy to form a Quiet Trivia and
Comedy Night. Come alone or come
with your friends. There is no prerequisite
or special skill required to have
a ball. The trivia lis ed by some of the
cities funniest comedians so there is
never a dull moment. As the scores are
being tallied comedians will perform
their acts. At the end of the night winners
will also receive special prizes.

Winter Family Program features
Winter Tree Session at Queens Botanical
Garden. Children of all ages are
welcome to join QBG on Saturday to
learn more about trees! This includes
fun and educational activities that
explore topics including parts of
trees and their functions. The onehour
event will also give visitors the
chance to utilize parts of trees to make
craft s to take home. Finally, the session
will end with a nature walk through
the garden’s Pinetum. The QBG’s Pinetum
is a scientifi c collection of living
coniferous trees. This winter family
program runs from Jan. 12 to Feb. 2
with four sessions total.

Center’s Crystal Ballroom RPJC has a

along with a Singles Social Dance. Proper

Park Jewish Center is a traditional and
conservative synagogue that welcomes
Jewish people of all persuasions. RPJC
has been around since 1939. The center

to experience the Flight of the Butterfl
ies, a 3-D movie that takes visitors on a
treacherous yet captivating journey. In
the 3-D theater, visitors are a part of the
monarch butterfl y’s journey. Visitors
watch their migration patterns closely,
witnessing thousands fl y through the
peaks of Mexico. Experience what 40
years of research looks like to fi nd the
monarch butterfl y’s secret hideaway.
Washington Post described the 3-D fi lm
as “engrossing.” The exhibit will run
from July 1, 2018, to June 30, 2019.

the trajectory of this zombie outbreak.
Exhibit facilitators using mathematical
models to show visitors how they can
be used to simulate, analyze, and make
predictions.

Talavya, an Indian percussion ensemble, performs at Flushing Town Hall
