Ridgewood’s 104th Precinct needs
the public’s help in finding the suspects
responsible for two recent
commercial vehicle break-ins on
neighborhood streets.
Law enforcement sources said
the first burglary occurred at 3:55
p.m. on Jan. 12 in front of an apartment
building on Jefferson Avenue,
between Cypress and Wyckoff
avenues.
Police reported that an unknown
male suspect broke into a parked
Ford Econoline van and removed
several unknown items. The 104th
Precinct, in a post to its Twitter
account, indicated that the suspect
broke a rear window and attempted
to grab various tools before fleeing.
Cops described the suspect as a
Hispanic male with a light complexion,
standing 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighing
about 135 pounds. He was last seen
wearing a black jacket and a black hat.
The 104th Precinct Detective Squad
is investigating that caper, as well as
a second vehicle burglary which occurred
at 2 a.m. on Jan. 14 in the area
of Fresh Pond Road and Linden Street.
According to a second post on the
precinct’s Twitter account, unidentifi ed
perpetrators broke into a parked, white
Ford van and removed construction tools.
At this point, police have not indicated
whether the two burglaries are
connected.

102ND PRECINCT
RICHMOND HILL
ARMED MEN INVADE
APARTMENT
Detectives are looking for two armed
men responsible for a violent home
invasion in Richmond Hill last week.
Law enforcement sources said the
caper took place at about 2:10 p.m. on
Jan. 16 in the area of Myrtle and Hillside
Avenues.
According to police, a 32-year-old
woman was heading out of her residence
when the two unidentifi ed male
suspects approached her. One of the
crooks displayed a fi rearm and forced
her back inside the home, where they
also confronted a 34-year-old victim.
Authorities said the home invaders
tied up both victims; in the process,
one of the suspects pistol-whipped
the 32-year-old woman in the head,
causing a bruise. Aft er restraining
the victims, police noted, the bandits
searched the residence, stole $500 in
cash and then fl ed the scene on foot in
an unknown direction.
EMS units responded to the home,
but the injured woman refused medical
attention.
On Jan. 19, the NYPD released video
footage of the two perpetrators. Cops
described one of the suspects as a
black man in his 20s or 30s, standing
6 feet, 4 inches tall and weighing 260
pounds. He was last seen wearing a
gray hooded sweatshirt, a dark jacket
and blue pants.
His partner is described as a Hispanic
male in his 20s or 30s, standing
5 feet, 7 inches tall and weighing 160
pounds, who was last seen wearing a
black hooded sweatshirt, a dark jacket
and gray pants.
