Members of the 112th Precinct responded to the crime; the woman was not injured. Authorities said the perpetrator took $7,400 in cash from the Astoria Bank at 75-25 Metropolitan Ave. at about 11:35 a.m. last Tuesday. Reportedly, the crook— described as a black male between 30 and 35 years of age standing 5’10”-tall with a medium build—wore a green hooded sweatshirt and a black knit hat when he walked into the branch. Police said the bandit passed a note to a teller demanding cash. Upon receiving currency, he reportedly fled the scene in an unknown direction. Based on the ensuing investigation, law enforcement sources stated the note-carrying crook conducted two similar robberies last year, including a Nov. 24 heist at the Capital One bank at 74-11 Metropolitan Ave., located down the block from the Astoria Bank. In that caper, authorities said, the robber got away with $750 in cash. Then on Dec. 9, police noted, the bandit visited the Capital One Bank at 70-01 Forest Ave. in Ridgewood, passed a note to a teller and received more than $2,600 in cash. Officers from the 104th Precinct responded to all three incidents; there were no reported injuries. -SEE HEIST ON PG. 24- TIMES, THURSDAY, JANUARY 8, 2015 • 6 Stole $7K In Most Recent Heist by Anthony Giudice A woman was groped from behind while waiting at a subway station platform in Forest Hills last Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2014, according to police.
