Armed robber targeting women in street stickups

Police released video on Dec.
29, 2018 of a person of interest
connected to an armed robbery
pattern on the streets of Ozone Park
and Richmond Hill.
Four women were held up at gunpoint
in the neighborhoods by an
unidentifi ed male suspect last month,
authorities said. In each instance, the
crook approached the victims, displayed
a gun an demanded money and/
or their cellphone or handbag.
Authorities said the fi rst robbery occurred
at 6:50 p.m. on Dec. 7 in the area
of 80th Street and Glenmore Avenue in
Ozone Park. The bandit removed $40
in cash and an Alcatel cellphone from
a 53-year-old woman.
Two nights later, at 6:50 p.m. on Dec.
9, the perpetrator robbed a 28-year-old
woman in the area of 81st Street and
97th Avenue. Cops said the suspect
took her Samsung Galaxy cellphone.
Law enforcement sources said that
the robber struck again at 5 p.m. on
Dec. 19 in the area of 88th Street and
103rd Avenue. He held up a 17-year-old
girl and removed her iPhone before
fl eeing.
Finally, at 5 p.m. on Dec. 21, the suspect
approached a 60-year-old woman
in front of a home on 115th Street
between Liberty and 107th Avenues

charges are accusations, and all

in Richmond Hill. He displayed a gun
and demanded her handbag. When the
victim resisted, authorities said, the
suspect knocked her to the ground
and removed her handbag, which
contained $452 in cash as well as a
debit card and a cellphone.
The four incidents were reported
to the 102nd and 106th Precincts. No
serious injuries were reported.
Cops described the person of interest
as a black man between 30 and 40 years of
age who was last seen wearing a dark-colored
snorkel jacket and a winter cap.
Security camera footage shows the
robber carrying out the Dec. 21 holdup
in Richmond Hill.
