Queens Council on the Arts was established in 1966 by various
leaders of the cultural community under the guidance of Jeanne
Dale Katz. Since then, QCA has evolved into a wide-ranging
arts service organization that supports artists and organizations
that put on arts and cultural projects taking place throughout the
borough.
Inside scoop: QCA offers local artists grant and residency
opportunities, professional development workshops and
networking events. They also run High School to Art School,
a free visual arts portfolio development program that provides
qualified high school students with art skills training, college
application assistance and financial aid planning necessary to
gain acceptance into competitive art colleges.
