 E-bike rider fatally strikes  
 woman in Astoria: NYPD 
 A  54-year-old  Astoria  woman  was  
 struck and killed by an e-bike rider near  
 her home on the evening of Friday, May  
 28, according to the NYPD. 
 Offi  cers  from  the  114th  Precinct  
 responded  to  a  911  call  regarding  a  
 motor  vehicle  collision  involving  a  
 pedestrian struck at the intersection of  
 21st  Avenue  and  31st  Street  just  aft er  
 8:30 p.m. 
 Offi  cers  discovered  the  victim  lying  
 on  the  roadway  with  severe  trauma  to  
 her  head.  EMS  also  responded  to  the  
 scene  and  transported  the  woman  to  
 Elmhurst Hospital, where she was pronounced  
 dead on Saturday, May 29. 
 Th  e victim was identifi ed by the NYPD  
 as Kelly Killian, a real estate agent who  
 lived on 29th Street, police said. 
 Further  investigation  by  the  NYPD  
 Highway District’s Collision Investigation  
 Squad  determined  that  a  26-year-old  
 man, operating the e-bike while traveling  
 eastbound on 21st Avenue, approaching  
 the intersection at 31st Street, struck  
 Killian, who was attempting to cross 21st  
 Avenue from north to south within the  
 marked crosswalk. 
 Th  e e-bike rider remained at the scene  
 and  was  not  arrested,  police  said.  Th e  
 investigation is ongoing. 
 102nd Precinct

 East, Richmond Hill, Woodhaven

 Police seek group of teens  
 in connection with series of  
 armed robberies near South  
 Richmond Hill school 
 Police in southeast Queens are searching  
 for a group of teens in connection  
 with a series of alleged armed robberies  
 that occurred in Richmond Hill. 
 It was reported to the NYPD that  
 between Saturday, May 8, and Monday,  
 May 31, a group of unidentifi ed individuals  
 were responsible for fi ve armed robberies  
 that took place near P.S. 62, located at 97-25  
 108th St., in South Richmond Hill. 
 In each of the cases — which happened  
 within the confi nes of the 102nd Precinct  
 — the unidentifi ed individuals arranged  
 to sell the victims a bicycle through the  
 online classifi ed application “Off er  Up,”  
 according to police. 
 When the victims arrived at the location, 
  the individuals brandished weapons  
 and removed the victims’ money and  
 property, according to authorities. Police  
 say the group allegedly used a combination  
 of guns, knives and a taser. 
 Th  e suspects are described as fi ve  to  
 six males between the ages of 14 to 16.  
 Police have released surveillance images  
 and video. 
 No arrests have been made and the  
 investigation is ongoing. 
 111th Precinct

 Fresh Meadows 
 Cops search for phone  
 scammer who allegedly  
 stole $9,000 from  
 elderly Bayside man 
 Police are on the hunt for a telephone  
 scammer who allegedly tricked an elderly  
 Bayside man out of thousands of dollars  
 in cash last month. 
 According to NYPD reports, the crook  
 made a call to a 79-year-old resident on  
 May 28 at around noon, saying that the  
 victim’s son was arrested in New Jersey  
 and needed $9,000 in bail. Th e  suspect  
 told the elderly man that he would arrange  
 for a bail bondsman to pick up payment  
 from his house near the Clearview  
 Expressway and 38th Avenue. 
 Th  e victim went to a nearby bank, withdrew  
 the $9,000 and headed back home.  
 An unidentifi ed man arrived at the residence, 
  where the victim allegedly gave  
 him the envelope containing the money,  
 according to authorities. Th  e man subsequently  
 left  the Bayside home on foot. 
 Later on, police learned that the man  
 had spoken to his son, who told his father  
 he had not been arrested. Th  e victim then  
 reported the incident to police. 
 NYPD released photos and video of the  
 incident which show a man posing as the bail  
 bondsman near the victim’s Bayside home.  
 Th  e images show the man leaving with what  
 appears to be an envelope in his right hand.
