All calls and messages are kept confi dential. 109TH PRECINCT Whitestone teen slashed in face while walking to school Cops continue to search for a man who slashed a 16-year-old girl in her face and throat 0n De. 16 in Whitestone. According to authorities, the unknown male approached the girl from behind at 8:16 a.m. near the intersection of 147th Street and 13th Avenue. He then sliced her with a box cutter, causing an injury to her left cheek and throat. The suspect fl ed on foot west on 13th Avenue towards 146 Street. Officers from the 109th Precinct responded to the incident. The victim is reportedly an exchange student from China and has been in the U.S. for eight months. She was transported to LIJ Children’s Hospital, where she was treated and is in stable condition. Police said the suspect was last seen wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt with a black hood and black stripes on the sleeves; according to published reports, he was also wearing a surgical mask and surgical gloves. All calls and messages are kept confi dential. 110TH PRECINCT Cement truck strikes and injures three pedestrians in Elmhurst A woman and her two children were transported to Elmhurst Hospital after they were hit by a cement truck at Junction Boulevard and 55th Avenue in Elmhurst, the FDNY said. FDNY received a call about the collision at 2:34 p.m. All three pedestrians were reportedly standing at the crosswalk when the cement truck struck them after making a right turn. They were transported to Elmhurst Hospital and according to police, the children have minor injuries, while the woman suffered a severe leg injury. State Senator Jose Peralta, along with Councilwoman Julissa Copeland-Ferras recently visited the intersection of Junction Boulevard and Northern Boulevard to propose to the DOT several traffi c safety measures to make the area safer. The visit was scheduled days after Ovidio Jamarillo, a Corona teen, was struck and killed in a hit-and-run after attending a friend’s grandmother’s funeral. “Here we go again. Just days after 17-year-old Ovidio Jamarillo lost his life to a hit-and-run driver in Elmhurst, we are now learning that two adults, and two children ages three and fi ve, have been seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle in Corona, with at least one victim now reportedly in critical condition,” Peralta said. “It is further troubling that this collision took place within steps of a public school just around the time of dismissal.” The 110th Precinct advised people on their Twitter account to stay away from the area. The incident occurred at 10:15 p.m. on Nov. 22 in the shop located at 38-02 Broadway. According to police, one of the male suspects confronted the victim and engaged him in an argument, asking why the victim was allegedly talking to the suspect’s girlfriend. The second perpetrator then helped the suspect assault the victim and remove his wallet, which contained an undetermined amount of money. The duo then fl ed the scene in an unknown direction. Offi cers from the 114th Precinct responded to the incident. No serious injuries were reported.
