The Blau Weiss Gottschee (BWG) 2006 soccer group had a busy weekend which saw the end of the 2016 campaign, and a visit from the big man from the North Pole. On Saturday, Dec. 10, after meeting with BWG Director of Coaching Paul McGlynne, the 2006 group traveled to the Hofstra Bubble Indoor League. The first group played a very close game against the Albertson Academy, winning the game 3-2. Goals scored by Murat Tsernikov (2) and Luca Fargoli. The second group won another close game against Levittown 3-2, with goals scored by Lautaro Croci (2) and Luca Giannola. Once the games ended, the fun began, as the boys, their parents and the coaches participated in the annual BWG Christmas party. Annual dart tournament at Middle Village pub collects toys for children PHOTOS COURTESY OF TOM LYNAUGH Mooney’s Public House on Eliot Avenue in Middle Village hosted the third annual Toys for Tots Benefi t Dart Tournament on Saturday, Dec. 10, to help raise money and gather toys for less fortunate children. Th e tournament was set up by Tom Lynaugh and Jesse Roland, who helped raise nearly $5,000 and 15 boxes worth of toys.
