light displays from around Queens

Do you or someone you know put on
an amazing light display for the holiday
season? Or is there is a special place in
Queens that you can’t help but stop by
every year?
Many places go all out for the holiday
season, and the homes and businesses in
Queens are no exception. Th roughout the
month of December, we’re looking for
photos of some the borough’s most festive
holiday displays. We want to showcase
the brightest, biggest, most colorful
holiday lights displays in neighborhoods
across the borough, and we want your
help to do it!
Whether you want to show off your
amazing holiday lights display, or if
you’re out and about and come across
something that truly makes the season
bright, send it to us!

Support local business during the Kew Gardens Holiday Crawl

Shop local this holiday season during
the fi rst annual Kew Gardens Holiday
Crawl.
Thirty-five businesses are joining
together for one week for a shopping
event not only as an invitation to residents
to utilize their local business for
their holiday shopping, but to engage the
local businesses with the community.
“We were thinking about how to build
community spirit and what the season
really means,” said Grace Anker, owner
of Th e Potter’s Wheel in Kew Gardens
and organizer of the crawl. “We fl oated
the idea to a few of the local businesses
and it just kept growing and expanding
from there.”
Th e Kew Gardens Holiday Crawl will
take place through Dec. 10. Each participating
business will have their own
unique discounts, raffl es, demonstrations
or free off erings through the crawl.

Anker. “Th e crawl is meant to bring people
out and them that they don’t have to
be stuck behind a screen for their holiday
shopping. It’s about having fun and seeing
what the neighborhood has to off er.”
