The accident occurred at 9:21 p.m. at the corner of Van Dam Street and Starr Avenue. Officers from the 108th Precinct and EMS units responded to the scene and found the victim with severe head and leg trauma. He was rushed to Cornell Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead a short time later. His identity was withheld by police pending family notification. No charges have been filed against the driver, and an investigation is ongoing. Sunnyside woman robbed at gunpoint in lobby of her apartment Detectives are seeking the public’s help in finding a male suspect caught on camera following a Sunnyside woman into an apartment and later robbing her at gunpoint. On Nov. 21, the perpetrator followed the 25-yearold victim into the lobby of her apartment at 47th Avenue and 39th Place at 4:49 a.m. The suspect — who police described as a Hispanic man wearing a dark-gray hooded sweatshirt over a light-colored shirt, dark-colored pants and black sneakers — displayed a gun and demanded the victim’s purse. Authorities said the crook fled with the purse, which contained $60 in cash and a bank card. The victim was not injured, and the incident was reported to the 108th Precinct. Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS. 109th Precinct Flushing, College Point, Whitestone, Bay Terrace Burglar caught on camera crawling across Flushing bedroom Police are looking for a brazen bandit who broke into a Flushing home and was caught on camera crawling across a bedroom where a resident was sleeping. The incident took place on Nov. 25 at 2:20 a.m. in a home at Union Street and 33rd Avenue. The suspect can be seen on surveillance video tiptoeing through the living room area before crawling into a bedroom to snatch a Samsung S6 cellphone from a bedroom dresser. He reportedly fled on foot when the victim — a 42-year-old male — awakened. Cops said the victim was not injured, and the suspect was last seen going westbound on 33rd Avenue. The investigation is ongoing. Police described the suspect as a man standing 6 foot 2 inches tall, weighting about 200 pounds and last observed wearing all black clothing and a black snow cap with the word “diamond” in red and white lettering on it. The two victims — ages 37 and 22 — were walking on 40th Avenue and Ninth Street at approximately 6 a.m. on Oct. 28 when they were approached by a suspect who demanded their bags and money, authorities said. According to the NYPD, the suspect struck both women in the head with an unknown object after they refused his request, causing a laceration to their foreheads. He fled on foot empty-handed. The victims were not hospitalized. The suspect is described as a black male who was last seen wearing a hooded sweatshirt, pants and sneakers.
