The suspect followed the 40-year-old victim into her 42nd Street building just before midnight on Oct. 25, authorities said. Once inside, the suspect pulled out a knife and demanded the victim’s cellphone, police said. The victim handed over her phone and the suspect fled. Police describe the suspect as a black man who is about 30 years old and has dreadlocks with yellow beads. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS (8477). 109th Precinct Flushing, Queensboro Hill, College Point, Malba, Whitestone, Beechhurst and Bay Terrace Man allegedly stabs Flushing roommate over what to watch on TV A Flushing man stabbed his roommate after the two struggled for control over the TV, according to police and a published report. The two men were inside their Sanford Avenue home about 6:50 a.m. on Nov. 16 when the dispute occurred, police said. One of the men, 60, stabbed his 51-year-old roommate in the neck and stomach, authorities said. The victim was taken to New York Hospital Queens with non-life-threatening injuries. His roommate, Waheed Akbar, has been charged with felony assault, according to the New York Post. He allegedly stabbed the victim over what to watch on TV that morning. A kitchen knife was recovered at the scene, police said. 114TH Precinct $27K stolen from man at Astoria check cashing store: police A suspect followed a man into an Astoria check cashing store before stealing his $27,000 bag of money, cops said. The suspect trailed the 36-year-old victim into the store, David’s Check Cashing, located on 31st Street near 23rd Avenue, at about 11 a.m. on Oct. 23, police said. He then held up his hand, covered with a bag, indicating that he had a gun, and demanded cash from the victim. The victim handed the suspect a bag containing about $27,000 in cash and the suspect fled, cops said. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS (8477). Suspect breaks into Tequila Sunrise A man smashed the front door of a Long Island City Mexican restaurant before taking off with hundreds in cash, police said. The suspect made his way into the eatery, Tequila Sunrise, at 40-01 Northern Blvd., about 3:15 a.m. on Oct. 24 after breaking the glass front door with an unspecified object, authorities said. Once inside, he took about $350 from a cash register before fleeing. Police have released video surveillance footage of the suspect taken inside the restaurant. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS (8477). 115th Precinct East Elmhurst, Corona and Jackson Heights Three men in serious condition after car gets wedged under truck in East Elmhurst Three men were seriously injured when their car crashed and became wedged underneath the rear of a tractor trailer in East Elmhurst, according to police. The black Volkswagen, holding a 19-year-old driver and his two passengers, was heading eastbound on Astoria Boulevard about 4:30 a.m. on Nov. 14 when it rear-ended a truck near 111th Street and got stuck under the back end of the trailer, cops said. The driver and passengers were removed from the vehicle by emergency personnel. The driver and a 19-year-old passenger were taken to Elmhurst Hospital, and a 31-year-old passenger was taken to New York Hospital Queens, police said. All three men were listed in serious condition. Screenshot courtesy of NYPD Photo via Twitter/@TrafficAdvisory Suspect forges Queens woman’s credit card to go on SoHo shopping spree: cops A New Jersey man forged a Queens woman’s credit card and used it to purchase thousands of dollars worth of clothing at two SoHo boutiques, authorities said. The suspect, identified by police as 27-yearold Cesar Lithgow-Maldonado, of Union City, N.J., was captured on surveillance video during his shopping spree on Oct. 20. He allegedly stopped by the Balenciaga store on Mercer Street near Prince Street, where he bought $636.92 in clothing, and the Versace store, just down the block on Mercer Street, where he scooped up $3,037.62 worth of clothing. The products were purchased with a forged credit card belonging to a 40-year-old woman from the northeast Queens area, authorities said. It wasn’t clear how Lithgow-Maldonado was able to get ahold of the card. Lithgow-Maldonado was previously arrested for committing the same offense in Stanford, Conn., according to police.
