Besides just making various cosmetic changes, the Hotel’s owners and operators knew that in order to better serve their guests, customers, and potential customers, real changes had to be made to the menu. Upon interviewing an array of chefs to really change things around, Chef Robert was selected to lead that change. It was Chef Robert that was inspired to create a French/American menu with a twist, once he learned what the owners and the operators of the Hotel were seeking. In fact, it was Chef Robert that helped come up with the name of the Restaurant. The Owner/Operator of the Hotel and the Restaurant, Alan Mindel wanted a menu that was subject to change and one that utilizes the freshest seasonal ingredients available. Chef Robert refers to it as Mr. Mindel’s, “Dynamic Menu.” When Chef Robert was asked what inspired him to create the menu, and the overall theme for the Restaurant he replied, “I have always been inspired by how much French recipes and cooking has influenced American cooking and dining. There is such a remarkable history there, and I don’t believe many people recognize it. What I want to show people is really a fusion of French JOB 9-014C 8.75 X 5.6875 QUEENS COURIER The Inn at Great Neck is proud to announce the arrival of its new Restaurant, which is the newest French/ American restaurant in Great Neck. The new name is the Brasserie Americana Restaurant, Bar and Lounge, presented by Executive Chef Robert Stancati. Chef Robert is formerly from the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy’s Officers’ Club, also known as Melville Hall located in Kings Point. Chef Robert joined the Inn at Great Neck team in early July of 2013, and has assisted the owners and the management team in transforming the Inn at Great Neck’s Restaurant, which was formerly the Giraffe Room. In early 2012 the Inn at Great Neck took over the management and operations of the restaurant within the Hotel, as it was leased out to a second party for many years prior. Upon taking over the Restaurant the Inn at Great Neck’s mission has been to offer the same exceptional standards to its guests and customers as it has for so long in operating the Hotel. Over the last six months, the Inn has invested various resources and American cuisine, and just have them experience something a bit out of the ordinary without leaning too far in any one direction. The Dynamic Menu concept is a terrific one because it will allow my kitchen team and me to continue to develop new ideas and concepts for an exciting and fresh dining experience for our guests for years to come. I also just felt it was very befitting to the overall style and décor of the Hotel as well.” The Brasserie Americana is located within the Inn at Great Neck located at 30 Cutter Mill Road in Great Neck. The Hotel provides free valet parking to customers of the Restaurant, and there is also plenty of municipal parking in the area. The Restaurant is perfect for couples, small groups and those that are perhaps looking to host a semiprivate affair. One of the Restaurants new highlights is their private cocktail room, which is perfect for social groups of approximately 6 – 8 guests.
