Man attacks two seniors
in attempt to steal
their baseball hats in
Jamaica: NYPD
Th e NYPD is looking for a crook who
assaulted two elderly men in Jamaica last
month, all in an eff ort to allegedly steal
their baseball hats.
On Th ursday, Sept. 3, around 9:38 a.m.,
an 88-year-old man was approached by
an unidentifi ed man aboard an MTA bus
at the intersection of Parsons Boulevard
and Archer Avenue, cops said. Th e man
reached for the 88-year-old’s baseball
hat and the two began to fi ght over the
headwear.

Cops seek thief who
broke into six homes in
Ridgewood last month
Th e police are looking for a man
behind a string of six home burglaries in
Ridgewood during September. Th e thief,
who has a propensity for stealing jewelry,
has made off with nearly $20,000 worth of
cash and jewelry, according to the NYPD.
On Sept. 1, around 5:30 p.m., an unifi
ed man broke into a home located at
586 Grandview Ave., according to the
police. Th e man made off with a safe containing
personal documents and around
$4,500 worth of jewelry, cops said. On
Wednesday, Sept. 9, around 4 p.m., the
man broke into a house at 1682 Grove St.,
and stole around $3,500 worth of jewelry,
according to the police.
A few days later, on Monday, Sept. 14,
around 4:40 p.m., the man snuck into
a home located at 576 Woodward Ave.,
and stole a safe containing documents,
police said.
Th e following week, on Monday, Sept.
21, around 7 a.m., cops said the man
broke into 1871 Bleecker St., and took
cash and around $2,200 worth of jewelry.
For his last caper, the man struck twice
in one day.
On Th ursday, Sept. 21, the thief broke
into 1675 Woodbine St. around 3:30 p.m.,
and stole cash and around $5,750 worth
of jewelry, according to the authorities.
Making his way down the block, the man
broke into 1671 Woodbine St., around
two hours later and stole cash and around
$3,700 worth of jewelry, police said.
Police recovered surveillance footage
of the man they believe to be behind the
robberies.

Duo slugs train conductor
in Ozone Park: NYPD
Th e NYPD is searching for two teens
who punched an MTA train conductor in
an unprovoked attack in Ozone Park earlier
this week.
On Monday, Sept. 28, around 8:20 p.m.,
two unidentifi ed individuals approached
a 27-year-old on-duty MTA train conductor
and punched him in the face, according
to the police.
Cops said the attack was random and
unprovoked.
Th e two teens ran out of the subway
station and fl ed westbound on Liberty
Avenue, according to the authorities. Th e
train conductor suff ered minor injuries
to his face and was treated at St. John’s
Hospital.
Both attackers are described as being
between 15 and 20 years old. One was last
seen wearing black sunglasses, a red baseball
hat, a black jacket and a black basketball
jersey. Th e other was last seen wearing
a blue shirt, black pants, black sneakers
and a blue backpack.
Th e thief bit the elderly man’s right
hand and threw him out of the doors of
the bus, onto the ground, according to
the NYPD. Th e man then ran off westbound
on Archer Avenue, according to
the police. Th e 88-year-old made his
way to Jamaica Hospital where he was
treated for a fractured rib, the NYPD
said.
A few weeks later, on Tuesday, Sept.
15, around 7 p.m., the same man allegedly
approached an 80-year-old man at the
intersection of Parsons Boulevard and
89th Avenue, according to the authorities.
Th e man demanded the 80-year-old
hand over his property, then punched
him in the face, stealing his baseball cap
and surgical mask, cops said.
He then ran off in an unknown direction

e 80-year-old went to a nearby hospital
to be treated for an eye contusion.
