Helping the needy for the new year
The Queens Jewish Community
Council (QJCC) prepared more than
1,000 bags of perishable and nonperishable
food to those in need
to celebrate the Jewish New Year.
Scores of volunteers came to pack
the bags including local Boy Scout
troops and members of the Hillcrest
Jewish Center. Many of the older
volunteers brought their children to
teach them how to give back to the
community.
