BY THE QUENS COURIER STAFF editorial@qns.com/@QNS Some of the greatest songs from the British Invasion era of rock ‘n’ roll will highlight the latest installment of the LIC Flea & Food market’s Music Series which continues this Saturday, Aug. 20. The British Invasion Experience will take the stage from 2 to 5 p.m. on Saturday and entertain fans with a high-energy performance covering charttoppers from British rock groups such including The Beatles, The Dave Clark Five, Herman’s Hermits, The Hollies, The Yard Birds, The Kinks, The Rolling Stones, The Who, Cream and Pink Floyd. The members of the British Invasion Experience engage their audiences as they flashback to the British groups of the 1960s and show how they influenced music and popular culture through the years. On Sunday, the music series continues with a DJ spinning tunes from 1 to 5 p.m. While enjoying the music both days, guests can chow down on some of the best global grub in Queens. The LIC has a number of new vendors including Boil Boil Ramen and Willie’s Burger Spot along with favorites that LIC Flea visitors have come to love. These include Whats the Dillaz, which won the 2016 Visitors Favorite Award; Tae NYC, which won best food with authentic Thai cuisine; Lizzmonade, the Best Beverage winner with madeto order fruit-infused lemonade; and The Dessert Kitchen, which won the Best Dessert award for its Asian sweet treats. Flea guests can also shop to their heart’s content at favorites such as Torie’s Treasures biker hip jewelry, vintage items from Maggiebeth Vintage, high end vintage threads from Lady V Second Time Around. They can also discover new vendors like Zoey n Lola’s handcrafted jewelry and Small Town Charm’s handmade, one-of-a-kind items. After shopping and eating, kick back and grab a brew at the all-Queens Beer Garden. If you like what you sip, then pick up a ticket for the first Queens Beer Festival on Oct. 15-16.
