This interactive poetry installation by artists Maya Pindyck and Jessica Houston brings together Flushing’s multicultural community and the legacy of Lewis Latimer, poet and inventor of the carbon fi lament for the incandescent light bulb. Poems are activated by light in the Latimer House, and signs on neighborhood lampposts invite passers-by to call in to hear a poem and record their own.
