Food vendors at the popular Long Island City market, located at Fifth Street and 46th Avenue, will be offering pork items on their menu both Saturday and Sunday such as pigz wingz from vendor When Pigz Fly and many more. To wash down the delicious dishes, visitors can visit the LIC Flea Beer Garden, where local brewery Big Alice Brewing will be taking over for the continuation of the market’s Meet the Makers Series. Guests will be able to taste a variety of Big Alice brews, learn about their beer making process and have questions answered by an expert beer maker. For the rest of the weekend, guest are encouraged to shop, eat, drink and chill out to the sounds of a live band playing reggae and resident DJ Johnny Seriuss spinning tunes. LIC Flea & Food runs every Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. through the end of October. Check out these vendors, who will be taking part this weekend for PIG OUT at LIC Flea & Food Lumpia Merienda Lumpia Merienda started with a mother’s Filiipino eggrolls, or lumpias, and the voracious appetites gathered around the poker table every Friday night. Four friends are now bringing these addictive and crispy snacks to the masses at LIC Flea. For PIG OUT they will be offering Lechon Kawali, Filipino fried pork belly served alongside garlic rice and sweet and sour pickled onions. Breads & Spreads Breads & Spreads offers the ideal snack for any time, with traditional and new fl avors, inspired by NYC’s global food scene. This vendor provides sumptuous spreads on artisan whole-wheat breads, ready to go for an accident-free indulgence. On Aug. 8 and 9, Breads & Spreads will be offering currywurst, which is to Berlin what the bagel is to New York. It is a cooked and grilled pork sausage topped with special homemade curry sauce – soul food from Berlin. Gracewood Oven Bar Andre Robinson is the chef extraordinaire of Gracewood Oven Bar, which will be offering their famous macaroni and cheese with pulled pork, caramelized onions and barbecue bacon jam to celebrate PIG OUT at the LIC Flea. Cake Box NYC Cake Box NYC is a concept deliberately spurned out of the simple desire to fulfi ll your sweet tooth. Their diverse array of unique tres leches cake embraces the melting pot of ethnic backgrounds that have been the staple of New York City. CakeBox NYC will leave you salivating for more. This weekend they will be offering their renowned tres leches with bacon Oreo crumble (black and white: chocolate or vanilla). RESOBOX Inc. One of the LIC Flea & Food’s newest vendors, RESOBOX will be offering a special pork rice bowl to celebrate PIG OUT.
