The victim picked up the suspect at Marcy Avenue and Fulton Street around 2 a.m. on May 14, cops said. At 67th Place near Myrtle Avenue, the passenger whipped out a gun and demanded money from the driver, according to offi cials. He then fl ed the cab with the cash. No injuries were reported. Police describe the suspect as a Hispanic man and about 25 years old. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS (8477). 107TH PRECINCT Fresh Meadows, Cunningham Heights, Hilltop Village, Electchester and Pomonok Video captures gunman opening fi re at bowling alley entrance Cops have released surveillance footage showing a gunman fi ring into the entrance of a bowling alley after the shooting left a man injured. The incident happened just after 10 p.m. on May 17 at Jib Lanes at 67-19 Parsons Blvd., police said. The suspect, who started fi ring outside the bowling alley before running inside, unloaded about fi ve shots, striking a 36-year-old man in the back and thigh, cops said. He then fl ed on foot. The victim was taken to New York Hospital Queens, where he was listed in stable condition as of May 19. Police describe the suspect as black, in his mid- to late-30s, about 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall and with a medium build. To see the surveillance footage, visit www.queenscourier. com. 111TH PRECINCT Bayside, Douglaston, Little Neck, Auburndale, Hollis Hills and Fresh Meadows Women arrested after using child in Bayside store thefts: cops Police have arrested two women in a series of Bayside store thefts where they allegedly used a four-yearold girl to steal cash and credit cards. Shannie Eastman, 39, of Queens, and Tisha Strong, 41, of Brooklyn, have each been charged with grand larceny, petit larceny and failure to exercise control of a minor, cops said. Two of the thefts occurred within less than two hours of each other on May 7. That afternoon, the suspects had the child, who is Eastman’s daughter, take a wallet containing $200 from a salesperson at Karma Boutique at 38-27 Bell Blvd., according to police and the store’s owner. Around 2 p.m. while the store was busy and the salesperson was distracted, one woman told the young girl to take the wallet, which was behind the cash register. The child then allegedly gave the wallet, which also contained personal identifi cation and a debit card, to one of the women, who placed it in her pants and fl ed the clothing store. The women are accused of committing a similar theft at a nearby thrift shop called The Worthy Pause, on Corporal Kennedy Street, about 3:30 p.m. the same day, according to police. They entered the store with a young child and took two purses, which contained approximately $170 and several credit cards, before fl eeing, offi cials said. The stolen goods belonged to two store volunteers, according to another volunteer who works at the shop. Police said the same women are also connected to an April 10 theft at the Empress Travel Agency, located at 39-22 Bell Blvd. Two women came into the business with a young child around 3 p.m., then stole $900 from a cash box, which was located in a back room near a bathroom that the suspects asked to use, cops said. 114TH PRECINCT Astoria, Long Island City, Woodside and Jackson Heights. Driver sought in Astoria hit-and-run Cops are looking for the driver involved in an Astoria hit-and-run that left a 21-year-old man injured. The driver of a white sedan struck the pedestrian on 45th Street at about 4:05 a.m. on May 19 when the vehicle mounted the sidewalk as it headed westbound on 30th Avenue, police said. The driver then fl ed the scene. The victim was taken to the hospital and suffered a broken femur, concussion and dislocated shoulder, according to offi cials.
